Sampling banjo with Tom Strahle
At the beginning of 2025, I got introduced to Tom Strahle, look him up, he’s a well established LA session guitar player, one o the finest. The dude has covered up for Steve Lukather, nuts. Also has done a lot of writting with some major pop stars.
Tom is well known for his veratility and his impecable vibe, and I have to say it was a pleasure working with him. He delivered everything production ready on the first try, looking forward to work with him again!
This project was also cool because I had an idea for how to cut samples and map them without the software we normally use for that (its very old and runs on legacy machines only). And guess what, I tried it and it worked.
This instrument was recorded, mixed, edited, denoised, chopped, mapped, scripted, tested, and ready for beta in under 2 weeks, but it had to stay hidden until October for reasons I can’t get into. Go check it out in Musio!
