Mallets and Drums at The Village Studios

This is a small but pretty historic studio located near Santa Monica blvd in Los Angeles. At the time. we had started recording a few instruments what would be Musio exclusives. The Village Studios had been a location for a few of our UCLA classes, but this was the first time I was there working. Sam Estes was running the session, we were sampling the same player who did a lot of CinePerc collection, this time for a Marimba, Xylophone, Vibraphone, and Glockenspiel collection, as well as a drumkit collection with multiple body choices.

We tested mics, outboard gear, and started recording. Very methodic process for mallets and percussion, but it was fun to participate in the setup and see how the techniques I had learned at Amper and universities translated to other rooms and instruments. I got to bring my inlaws over to visit the session which for me personally was a very fun thing to be able to show, they seemed to love it! Then we went for beers.
